Preparing

I have started to pack the essentials- knitting needles and warm clothes- for it is that time of year again.  Tomorrow, I will give my two boys kisses and hugs (and leave them with a few loaves of freshly baked banana bread), and I will hop in the car to make a solo journey to Squam Art Workshops.  I am going there simply to be...not as a student, or a teacher, and since I am on maternity leave, not as an official Squam employee, either.  Elizabeth has given me the ultimate gift by allowing me to simply be there, and soak up all of the creativity and community.
Does that mean my hands will be still...oh heavens, no!  I am packing knitting and sewing projects, and I plan to have my camera on hand to capture all of the beauty.  I finished my first sweater (remember this peek? I'll show you the finished product next week!) which meant I simply had to purchase new yarn for another project, one to keep me busy at Squam.  Lovely, isn't it?  I can hardly wait to curl up around the fire, and indulge in creativity, conversation, community...and a break from chasing my beloved, but oh-so-busy little toddler.  Oh sweet rest, I can hardly wait!

whoa, glad I checked! I'd been planning on catching you at the Sakonnet Market Sat. and was bumming because I had to be on the cape after all, enjoy Squam, sweetie! and maybe I'll catch you and the wee boys at a farmer's market later this summer!
