Making Room for Baby

Making Room for Baby
A recent discovery: it's super easy to let your home become overrun with baby stuff. We are, however, doing our best to keep things simple. Once the little man is sleeping through the night, he will move into his nursery, but for now...he is bunking with us. There are a few things that I have found to be essential... a Moses basket with organic bedding and a rocking stand, something with which to play music and a mobile. That's it...that is all that you need for a nice sleeping space. Speaking of music, we are loving lullabies by Jewel and Linda Ronstadt. Gentle enough for a baby, but enjoyable for adults too!

You may also find it necessary to display absurdly cute pictures of your baby around the room too...but then again, that might just be me!

We are off on our first overnight adventure to Newport this weekend and I am trying my best not to pack the entire house!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Love the mobile!
what a peaceful and beautiful home you have. ;)
I used a Moses basket with my children, too. They are awesome.
blessings to you all,
Athena

love this post! to be honest, one of the things that freaks me out most about having a baby is all the "stuff"... i've seen those homes where it's just baby baby baby... so glad you are paving the way for a simpler lifestyle! and i love those photos on the wall. did you take those yourself or hire someone? :)

love ya!!

I read your blog but I don't think I've commented. But anyway, I just wanted to suggest Sarah Fimm for sleepy time music. Her stuff on the album Nexus is beautiful, serene, and wholesome. One of the prettiest is an instrumental piece called Storytime... seriously, check out that album. :)

Also, you're inspiring! Like Naturally Nina, I worry that when (if?) I have children, it'll be all primary colors and not aesthetically pleasing at all - but you've shown way different! Thanks!

I have been quietly (so as not to wake the sleeping babe)savoring each and everyone of your mothering posts. It goes quickly so I'm happy to be reminded of the magic through your eyes. Have a wonderful adventure away from home! As you well know: you're all Vijay needs... well a couple of you g-diaper will be essential, too!
