First off...thank you so much for all the
nursery love! I cherished each and every comment, and I love that you adore the space as much as I do. It was so fun to share it with you, each and every little detail...so thank you for indulging me! I have some other fun news to share with you today...something I have been wanting to tell you about for well over a year now!

Come on, look a little bit closer...

That's right my friends...yours truly has written a feature article for
Country Living magazine. A SIX-PAGE spread on the fantastic Susan Gibbs and
Juniper Moon Farm. This has been over a year in the making.

After meeting Susan at the very first Squam Art Workshops that I attended (back in June 2009), I got the idea in my head to pitch her story to
Country Living. I happened to be vacationing on Martha's Vineyard that summer, so I
paid Susan a visit, conducted a short interview and sent the idea off for consideration. To my shock, Country Living not only accepted the idea, but agreed to make it a feature article and
fly me to Virginia (where Susan moved her farm) to write the story. Then came months of waiting, an intensive period of writing and revisions...and finally, it dropped in my mailbox this afternoon.

This is why I write... why I continue to submit story ideas in the face of so many rejections. Every once in a great while, I get to tell the story of someone living their creative dream...and it makes all the rest of the struggle worth it.
Please run out and pick up the November issue of
Country Living, and if you like what you see...drop them a note. Wouldn't it be nice to see more stories featuring women living out their dreams?
I'll run out and get my copy tomorrow! Great!!! I'd love to hear about more stories like that.
I follow fiberfarm too. It so great to see you both getting the recognition you deserve. Well done!
Congratualtions! That's terrific.

Doing a little dance in the living room for you <3
You can't really see it very well, but I'm hopping up and down in excitement on your behalf! That's totally thrilling - what a great opportunity! Good idea, Miss. C. And great work!
Congratulations! On the article and on your persistence in refusing to be put off by rejections. Go, girl!
Wonderful Christine! it's hard in the face of so many rejections to sometimes remember 'why' we write... but, well, then a gem like this comes along and it all makes sense. Well done xxx
Congrats! I can't wait to see my issue. Looks wonderful. :)

Congratulations!!! Amazing!!! And, you were able to write about yarn....lucky girl. Great job Christine!
Congratulations! I didn't make the connection that it was you writing that fab article til your post. I love that Susan is getting the recognition as the creative genius that she is, and that you get to have a great story, and experience, published in such a great mag.
I got to start my dream fiber farm, thanks to Susan's great goat giveaway last year. I'm a big believer in reinventing yourself when things aren't working for you in life, and Susan's story is such a great example of that. Leap and the net will appear :)
I'm so happy for you, and can't wait to see that baby :)
awesome!
awesome for you! :)
awesome for wanting to share and show off the joy of other women who create and live their dreams!
Thank you for sharing this information. I love the Juniper Moon Farm blog, and ironically, live near Santa Fe in a Juniper-Pinon woodland (7500 ft elevation in the mountains). I recently moved my bakery from Park City, Utah to here...and have fantastic ideas for the building I found for the bakery/cafe. Great potential...and some setbacks. So today, I am sort of in setback mode...trying to keep the faith...and believe it is all coming together...the sun is gorgeous...and blessings abound. So thank you again, some days we all need a little extra inspiration. Best of luck on your upcoming baby boy.
That's amazing! Congrats! I would LOVE to write something for a magazine. I bet you feel awesome.
And Country Living is one of my faves!
congratulations! this is so totally awesome!!

Love your article on JMF and Susan. She's a friend of mine and my daughter was one of the first shareholders when Susan was on the Vineyard.
Wow, I just read that article last night, then stumbled across your blog today...i think it was meant to be :)
I just found your blog from your comment on Small Measures blog. I loved this article. I didn't know these existed.
