I had some pretty lofty crafting plans for our babe-to-be, and I am proud to say that I have completed almost all of them. Many of my crafty to-do's were for the
nursery, but there were others. There was this
Heather Ross quilt, and...

this
Nani Iro play-mat...

Now, with my book manuscript turned in (YIPPEE), I am going to have wide open time to finish the rest of my projects!

I have definitely reached that uncomfortable phase of my pregnancy. Sleeping is difficult, sitting is difficult, moving is difficult, eating is difficult, breathing is difficult...so that leaves...nothing! I find that I am most comfortable when lying in bed on my side, surrounded by pillows, watching movies. That is exactly what I intend to do for the next week or two (or until whenever our little man decided to make his appearance). Of course I need projects to keep my hands occupied while watching my movies, so here is what I have planned:

Felt block inspired by
Janine and...

a striped baby hat knitted with this beautiful yarn.

Speaking of knitted goods...I have been meaning to show you the AMAZING booties and baby blanket that my mom's friend made for our little guy. These were one of my favorite shower gifts...I could feel the love that went into each knit and purl. Aren't they stunning?

Yes...this is one loved baby. Now would he hurry up and get here already!
so excited for you to welcome your little guy! what an incredible job you've done preparing!
Lovely quilt and blanket. That yarn looks especially delicious. I might suggest floating in a tub...that was nice to feel so buoyant when I was pregnant. This last bit of time is so exciting!
Oh yeah! Those booties are stunning! And the baby`s room is soooo lovely!!!
sweetie i am getting so excited for you!!!!! i hope he comes early (for your sake). :) i'm so impressed with all of your craft projects. some day, will you teach me? :)
p.s. let me know if there is anything i can do to help, ok? seriously - i'm just 45 minutes away!
I'm glad to hear you got done what you hoped to! I've been busy making gifts for all my other pregnant friends, so I haven't made so much for our baby. I figure I have the rest of his life to make stuff for him, but I also have much higher standards for the things that will stick around our house! Hope you have a great last few weeks.
Oh! I love those booties! Do you know where the pattern came from?
Those booties are adorable and that blanket just beautiful. And well done you for finishing so many projects AND your book! You are one productive girl!
xx
Gemma...I don't have the pattern for these booties because a friend made them for me...but I will try to get the info from her!
Thanks Christine :)
I am also hunting around for it, so if I find a look alike, will come back and post the link here, in case anyone else would like to knit them! Best wishes in these last days :)
I'm so happy you've managed to get done what you set out to. The nursery is gorgeous. Your quilt and play blanket are fantastic. You're almost there! I agree with Kellen... into a warm bath. Can't wait for you to introduce us to your son!
swooning on the booties and the projects-- but only YOU would say you needed something to keep your hands busy as you lay in bed watching movies-- what about stuffing popcorn into your mouth for hours on end? hmm? smooches-- E
really beautiful photos! i'm excited for you!
