Last night, in the interest of supporting Farm Fresh Rhode Island, Vijay and I attended the Local Food Fest in Newport. It was the most beautiful event, set on the picturesque grounds of the Castle Hill Inn & Resort.
There were live cooking demonstrations, garden tours, a raw bar and local wine and beer tastings. Twelve local chefs were paired with twelve local farms to come up with a tasting, and let me tell you...their creations were out of this world.
Our favorites were the pan roasted striped bass with Sweet Berry Farm peaches and the Wishing Stone Farm poached egg crostini. The desserts were pretty unbelievable too...blueberry cobbler, mini cupcakes and blueberry ice cream with white and yellow peaches.
We ended the night with a cup of rich, aromatic, decaf coffee and watched the sun set over the ocean. It was what I would call a perfect end to a perfect evening!
I am so glad you are here...pull up a seat and look around! I hope you will find much to enjoy, including my many musings on writing, motherhood, crafts, decorating, and simple living.
My mouth is watering!!!!!
Beautiful photographs! Looks like fun!
I am lusting over that block of cheese.
My brain is trying to rationalize how a massive block of cheese & slicer is essential to my kitchen.
beauty!
oh my goodness - incredible photos! They look so good I can almost taste those wonderful treats!
I am also so very jealous - my husband and I *just* got back from our honeymoon in Newport and we're already pining to be back there! :)
