I have been busy unpacking, resting and trying to beat my jet lag, so excuse my light posting this week! I do want to share one last piece of Istanbul with you, Istanbul Modern Art Museum. We met a friend for lunch in their ultra-swanky cafe. The food was delicious, but it was the decor that really caught my attention. I love the counter, which glowed from within, highlighting flowery cut-outs.

I also liked the silver globe lights that hung across the bar area, creating interesting reflections in their mirrors.

Finally, I thought this approach to storing wine was rather inventive!

I would have loved to show you around the Museum itself, which highlighted both traditional and modern Turkish art, but no pictures were allowed. I did manage to sneak this picture below, in the Museum's library, of the ceiling made up of suspended books.

And that, my friends, wraps up my Istanbul trip! I am so happy to be home, staying put for the whole summer! It's time to get to work on some projects around the yard and house. Plus, I have some BIG news to share with you in the coming weeks! Oh, the excitement...
The ceiling of suspended books is amazing! I wonder how they did it...

The reflective light globes are amazing! It is so cool that you notice things like that. LoVe the way you caught the flowers on the bar, too. And the suspended ceiling!! Just WOW!
i am not a modernist but am so intrigued with the design and intent. love these.
