Brooklyn Baby

Saipua
It's been a while since I have been in this space...but I want to say a big THANK YOU. Your comments and emails provided me with such comfort during this difficult time. You brought me hope at a time when I had none. I can't tell you how heartwarming each and every comment was to read.

Unfortunately, nothing has been recovered since the robbery. My life is now resembling a second rate-crime novel, as I hired a private investigator to help me try and recover my bracelet. That is how much it means to me. I have not given up hope, he has a few tricks up his sleeve...so please continue to send your positive thoughts my way that this treasured belonging will make its way home.

I am discovering that they very best way to get over a robbery, is to take a weekend and head to Brooklyn, New York with Elizabeth for a writing retreat! My mind was a little scattered, so the writing portion was very difficult for me...but the shopping...no problem! I have never spent much time in Brooklyn, so my list of places to see was long and scattered.

Yesterday, once the great snow storm had finally let up, we made our way from Red Hook all the way to Williamsburg. My favorite stop, by far, was Saipua...who knew such a tiny shop could hold so much inspiration. Also making the favorites list- Darr and The Brooklyn Flea. Can I take you along on our little journey?

Now the question remains...will we ever make it home, or do we just have to wait for spring thaw?

I dont even know what to say about the robbery. It just makes me sick to the stomache.
I used to live in brooklyn and miss it like crazy. I used to sit for hours on the pier in Redhook and just look at the city. Glad that you got a bit of retail therapy.
Praying that you belongings find their way home.

I hope your treasured bracelet makes it home (and maybe your PI will get a lead on the person/people who took it).

Retail therapy/writing/brooklyn was a very prudent decision. Looks like fun- glad the snow didn't get in your way.

Your photos are beautiful!

It was really great to meet you yesterday. I hope my rinky-dink map got you and E around Soho and that you have a great rest of your trip in Brooklyn.
