Projects and more
I have been the worst blogger this past week...major slacking! And while there is no great excuse, here is my so-so excuse: I am trying to finish up a bunch of projects before I leave for Squam Art Workshops (SAW) tomorrow. So let me show you what has been keeping me so busy:
The chickens were misbehaving something terrible last week. I would come home to find them wandering down our street, strutting across the neighbors yards and perching way up in trees. I couldn't deal with chasing them down any longer, so I built them a pen. They are terribly sad about it, which is a good lesson. I should have started them out in a pen immediately, but now that they have had a taste of freedom, they yearn for more. Oh well...tough luck naughty chicks!
I have been tidying up around the house in order to get ready for my mini-vacation. That means watering plants, cleaning the chicken coop, doing laundry, cleaning out the fridge. You know, all the fun stuff!
I bought another Janet Hill Studio original (part of the problem with getting paid on PayPal...it is so hard to resist draining the balance!). I had to have this one as it reminds me of my love of the farmer's market! I found the perfect home for this beauty...front and center in the living room!
I have been rearranging my studio and this weekend, I built a large, linen inspiration board. I love having space to hang my favorite clippings from magazines, pretty bits of fabric and lace, and post-it notes to remind me of upcoming tasks. I also re-hung my printer's box, which I haven't really showed you before. This hung in my room growing up and my mom and I were always searching for tiny trinkets to fill the boxes. When I brought it to my new home, I decided to start over with my collection. Don't worry, my childhood collection is still safely tucked away!
Last, but certainly not least, I have been very busy collecting eggs. Two of my girls are laying now, and I love the varying colors of their eggs. My neighbors have been excited to get a few fresh eggs every morning. My popularity on this block is just sky-high!
Whew...so that, my friends, is what has been keeping me busy. And tomorrow, I head to SAW. So posting will continue to be light this week. But I will have so much goodness to share upon my return.
Until then...may I ask, what has been keeping you busy during this transition into fall?
the bench in the foyer looks great w/ the pillows. Great colors! xoxo Mom
HI! I want chickens so badly! Are they quite naughty because I dunno if I could put up with cheeky chickens.
Ohhhh you sound as busy as me! ;) Getting ready for winter in Northern Maine consists of finishing up the garden, getting all flowers plucked and into vases before the frost gets to them and piling wood! Whew! Fall time is here! :) Have fun at SAW! - Kellie
