Neurotic Chickens
First off, thank you so much for your lovely comments on my Today Show appearance. I have been obsessing about how awful I looked, but this morning, I was finally able to let it go! Deep breath... and moving on to more important matters, which include green tomatoes and neurotic chickens.
My chickens have been super high strung lately, trying to peck their way through our back door if I don't feed them first thing in the morning. When I came out to refill their food this morning, Polly actually pecked me on the toe. What is that about? My mom and I got laughing this morning as we talked on the phone because I have some neurotic tendencies myself, so we thought it only fitting that the chickens have followed my lead. You can see Polly scrounging around in the compost pile in the picture above. She was squawking so loudly that I had to put her in the coop for a little time out. Who knew...even chickens need discipline!
In other backyard news...I have several green tomatoes still sitting pretty on the vine. Is it too late? Will they still ripen up nicely for me? Does anyone with a green thumb have some answers?
Make fried green tomatoes or grilled green tomatoes. They're yummy
green tomatoes will easily ripen on your window sill. promise. no worries!
