Done!
I am finally finished with my first ever crochet project. My blanket turned out beautifully and I am so proud of myself for not giving up when the thought of attaching 49 squares and sewing in millions of loose ends loomed before me. I am sure that you are all thinking...it's about time, since I have shared the entire crocheting experience with you from start to finish. But this blog is my chance to share, because Lord knows I get no recognition in my own home.
I showed my husband the finished project and explained to him all the work that went in to it and he stared at me blankly, as if this was the first time he had ever seen it. Please note...I have been working on this project for the past six months, sitting next to him in bed, crocheting like a mad women while we watch our Netflix choices together and I now realize that he has no recollection of any of it. Argggghh, men.
*A few of you asked about the yarn that I used, so here are the details. The company is Lorna's Laces, I used the Shepard Worsted, 100% Superwash Wool and I bought it at Purl Soho! It was an absolute dream to work with!
so pretty...i just love the combinations of those purples!
absolutely lovely Darling! Hurray for you for finishing! Grat article as well! I'm so glad I got a chance to read it. love, Mom
Well done you! Those colours look so pretty and yummy. Makes me think of berries and ice cream.
It´s gorgeous!!! Congratulations!!
I'm so impressed that you did this as your first project! Good job!
LOL-that sounds exactly like my husband. "Where did this come from?" "I made it while I was sitting right next to you." Hilarious. I am sooo impressed that you did that for your first project. It's GORGEOUS! Congratulations, I can't wait to see what you make next!
It looks FABULOUS! Congratulations on finishing it! I'm sure I wouldn't have had the patience...
I so love crocheted stuff but unluckily for me I've been the worse crochet apprentice ever! Don't mind your husband dear, nothing to do about men's sensitivity but laughing at it. Your work is a dream, I totally envy you! Kudos!
Oh, it looks so gorgeous! The colours are just a dream!!!
And about your hubby ... well, I think it is very hard for men/ people that don't crochet (or at least craft) to understand what it actually means to finish a project like this!
That is one "yummy" looking blanket. A LOT of seaming and sewing in ends...I get a bit uncomfortable myself just thinking about it. But, you finished. Yeah for you.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!!!!
