I love the old one...I understand why you designed the new one, as a writer (and who doesn't love those vintage typewriters?). But, I feel like the little hand-printed chicks express the spirit of your blog so nicely that I would stick with them!
I'm torn as well. I do really like the chicks, but know you have more colorful unique designs to show off. So, one single vintage typewriter with a homemade design...or, one vintage typewriter with a single design next to it.
I do like where you're going with the new one, but like Beth said above, maybe just one? maybe you could also do a little drawing of one yourself to show that not only are you a writer but an artist as well! Good luck!
While the typewriters say something about you as a person, they seem a disconnect from the blog itself. And even though the typewriters are colorful and gorgeous, the images seem a bit heavy for the purpose (and we know you're a writer -- you have a blog!). Chickies all the way.

I like them both...but I totally love the old one. :)
My very most favorite was the colorful paper lanterns you had quite a while back. There - now I've confused everyone and not been a bit of help! LOL!
We will keep visiting no matter what you choose, and all your headers have been great :)

While I adore old typewriters, I think the the top one is better. I just love the little chicks.
