Rubberized Stairs Are a Thing of the Past

The people who lived here before us had laid thick brown rubber mats on each stair. Why? Well, my guess is to prevent wear and tear. But, I hated them with a passion. So today, I had my new Dash & Albert runners installed. The result is AMAZING. It brings so mush color to our stairwell and entryway. I am beyond happy with the results! I am also glad that I hired someone to do this job...it is all about knowing when to say "WHEN."

I love this! Did you make the runners or purchase them? What a cool idea!

PLEASE tell me how much this cost you total?? I'm a fellow Rhode Islander (not originally from here but have now lived her 16 years and love it...well, except for the stupid things) - I TOTALLY want a new runner on our stairs and have been thinking of Dash and Albert...love your blog, your new home looks great!

Hi Bill, Always nice to hear from a fellow Rhody. The runner cost $330 TOTAL, which is an amazing price for 24 feet of carpeting! I had to purchase three 8 x 2.5 runners and then the carpet layers just combined them.

There is a GREAT local shop, Frog and Toad in Providence, that will order custom Dash & Albert rugs for no charge. Stop in to browse the catalog, or check it out online. You cannot order D&A online, so you have to go through a store that carries them. Hope that helps!

I HEART you for telling me this! What a great price! AND I've never been to Frog & Toad! Definitely going there now! I live in Pawtucket but lived on the east side of Prov for years. I'm so excited - I'm totally doing this! Thank you so much!!!
