Vintage Buttons

I took a break from moving related chores to pop into a local antique store.  I scored a few vintage buttons, which I am hoping will speak to me as to what I should use them for.  I love collecting buttons...I especially love organizing them by color and then storing them in cute little jelly jars.  But I never can think of projects to use them for.  The busy book was a great button project, but I need some more inspiration.  Do you have any projects that require cute buttons?  Send them my way!

Those are beautiful - I have a huge thing for vintage buttons! My grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and great-great-aunts were all button-hoarders, too. Lucky for me, I have many of their buttons, and as of right now they're sitting in a beautiful glass jar on a bookshelf in my living room.

This isn't a very crafty idea, but I've been thinking of sprucing up some plain cardigans by replacing their buttons with beautiful old ones instead.

I'll be interested in seeing what ideas you come up with!

Mmm, I can just imagine a row of mason jars along a window filled with buttons (I have a few filled with marbles in my house!). One of our readers at FaveCrafts.com stores all her buttons in a big glass fishbowl. It's like diving for a treat! Love it!
Here are a few other button projects I found:

Hope that helps to inspire!
