What is That?

If you promise not to laugh, I will show you my first attempt at felting. To put it in context, my husband thought it was some sort of hairball that had blown in. I informed him that actually, I had just spent an hour of my life making this "hairball" and I was extremely proud of it, thank you very much! It is a little gray mouse, from the book, Fuzzy Felted Friends.
Felting with a needle is actually a very fun and easy process. All you need is a felting needle, some raw wool and a bit of patience! You simply needle the raw wool into the shape that you want and the snares on the needle twist the wool together and the shape begins to firm. To finish off the mouse, I used black thread for the whiskers and nose and little black beads for the eyes. This is only my first attempt- there will be more (hopefully better) to come!
